The closer we are to the end of the season the more we get the question – when are you coming back? It is annoying sometimes because we never know until 1-2 days before we actually getting our plane tickets from the team.
The end of a season is bittersweet. You have to pack all the stuff you used for about 9 month to go home for 2-3 months & then getting ready for the next season.
A season necessarily doesn’t always end smoothly. It can be over due to an injury, unhappy with the team, no payments, family emergency & so on.
Even though this year the season ended earlier for us we are excited & happy to go home now & prepare ourselves for the next season.
Sometimes it is surreal to be at a game with all the girls you became friends with & then you realize you might not see this person ever again but at the end we all are happy when we get to leave because another year is over & we made it! I think that’s how Dominic feels with his teammates as well.
The last days with the team getting busy with packing, cleaning, traveling & then getting comfortable at home.
While I was packing for Ava & I, I realized how many clothes/stuff we have & yet I wasn’t able to throw too much away, even though I have clothes back in Munich & Portland (honestly I really can’t remember what clothes I left in Portland haha). I ended up packing 2 bags for Portland (luckily Dominic takes them, so I only have to pack 1 bag when Ava & I are going to Portland) & 2 bags for Munich. It was a lot!
Currently I feel kind of jealous because he has all the freedom while I take care of Ava. Don’t get me wrong I love Ava to death & I feel guilty leaving her alone for 2 hours but when he told me he went to the movies I was jealous. My last cinema visit is over a year ago.
We all are excited to be reunited in America & to see how Ava will react to all our friends. She’s an outgoing person anyways but the last time they saw her she was only 2-3 months old! It also means that summer will be finally here!
