Before I was pregnant I was very active in the gym. My normal gym routine consisted of squats, weights & sprints.

Side note: We were in Turkey during my pregnancy. I flew home when I was 36 weeks in

During and after pregnancy your body and mind goes through a lot. Workouts will be more challenging, time will be limited and energy won’t be as high, but I think it’s so important to regain sense of self and your own routine throughout all of this. Even if it’s only a fraction of what it used to be.

I was told by my Doctor not to workout the first 3 months, but after that I started going 5x a week in the gym on the trea

If I would have been at a nice gym (personal trainers, good equipment, etc.) or in Munich or even at a place where people spoke English, I would have worked out harder & not only walked. I wasn’t sure what I could do without hurting the baby.

I honestly didn’t put much effort to find workouts on YouTube for pregnant ladies, but now I am smarter.

Mind you, I was in pretty good shape I would say until the last trimester (29-40 weeks), then the kilos came in! Like I was literally breathing them in!

I know with all the social media, tv shows & magazines we feel forced to stay skinny, even while we’re pregnant! Please don’t feel pressured by all this! Every pregnancy is different. Some women only gain 5-8 kilos (don’t ask me how) & some gain 25 kilos (like me)

Not working out and enjoying being pregnant is just fine! It is very important to feel good during the pregnancy. Stay positive, be excited & embrace it!

I’m not going to lie to you – I was not happy with what I saw on the scale. I was honestly shocked because I was wondering how & when I gained so much weight?

But I told myself that it was okay & I will work on my body again once I gave birth.

Said & done.

Currently I am working out 6x a week in the morning at home with my Nike app, and a weighted hula hoop ring for 30 minutes straight. Ava is usually playing around or watching me and sometimes she workouts with me (see picture below)..

Every month I switch up my program to challenge my body, because after a while your body gets used to the same workout & then you stop being challenged. Sometimes I am able to go for runs, when daddy’s jobs allows it.

I encourage you to fit workouts in when and where you can. It might not be the routine or environment you’re used to, or even the amount of time you used to have, but every minute counts and different types of workouts can be done anywhere! You might find this beneficial because it’s out of the norm and the different styles might challenge your body in ways it’s not used to.

So my body is currently under construction
